RD22 and RD23 Added to the fleet

Introducing RD22 & RD23 a pair of twins. This little babys are based on the Quadrixette Nano Airframe and the CopterControl by OpenPilot.

The idea being that we wish to build the smallest possible AP/AV/FPV platform for portability. Technically, I should be abe to fit a radio, a spares kit , lipos and the model iteslf along with a gopro into a single case.
size
The Nano is made from aluminum and fiberglass. For the initial attempt I will use Hobbyking Plush 6A ESCs to control A1510 2200KV Outrunner Brushless Motors, spinning some form of 3 blade glass fiber prop.

RD22 (Yin) Nano Quad Build begins

My Frames and components (all but the props) arrived today, so I was quite excited to have my parcel from Nic in Germany. proper package So I dumped it all out and this is all there was, not that anything was missing, just that there is so little of it and allthe peices are impossibly small parts I bought the hk250 landing gear kit from hobby king, but it does not fit quite right, but I may still use it, or another I have (I also have the align 250 skid set on order as well) landing gear I then drilled the arms, arms drilled Then I put the motors on the arms, I got the motors from DealExtreme: A1510 2200KV, and began building the main frame main frame I have the ESCs as well but did not break those out and solder them up, that will be for next time, but here it is for now.... What we have so far

RD22 The Nano Takes Flight

So I did not document this build very well and sorta skipped to the end in th name of fltying around in the house.

So here I am looking guilty about shirking my build-log duties, but OH is this little beastie fun! Gonna make a long winter sooo much better.

guilty

the green thing is an old TVX heatsink I was using to balance the copter, I dont have the FPV cam on yet, and when I do it will replace the heatsink and restore CofG

RD22 - FPV Gear Installed

I installed a 5.8 Ghz VTX and an expensive NTSC FPV cam onboard,

making the AUW 339 Grams RTF.

On the Radio, I installed a mini LCD monitor, and the 5.8 Ghz VRX.

Radio

THis configuration has proven to be good for frequency conflict and interference, but the 2S lipo does not seem able to handle the load of the VTX.
