This is a build of the amazing Shreddiqutte Bolt by William Thielicke (his site).
RD28 - Shredder - Parts arrive
Today my patcience was rewarded when some of the frame components of "Shredder" aka RD28 arrived in the mail from the U.K. It only took 12 days to arrive! I unboxed it, and was pleased with what I found. The quality of hcutting could have been better but I could also have paid alot more too. Shredder will be the first OpenPilot hexacopter in the fleet.
Shredder aka RD28 build continues
To begin with, I have bought 10 micro motors, the same ones used on rd22 and rd23,
however once I had assembled all 6 motors, I realized they would not fit the frame, becuase this version of the fram is actually larger than the original Shrediquette Bolt!!!
So back to the drawing board, and I decided to use Suppo 1000kv motors,
not sure if they will even work for this, but decided to try anyway, and what do you know, they are too tall so I modified the frame design, ok, we are barely started and I have already altered the design <ikes!> here you see the motors mounted to each other, in a very different way than intended but it might get the job done.
here you can see all 6 motors assembled and ready to go into the frame, which I still have to build but is radically simple to build.

Frame is now fully assembled, ready for ESCs, FC etc.
And thats it for one night!
